Deadbolt

Type of lock that provides additional security compared to standard spring bolt locks. It is often used on external doors as an extra layer of protection against unauthorized entry. Unlike spring bolt locks, which can be easily forced open, a deadbolt lock is more resistant to forced entry due to its solid, “dead” metal bolt that extends into the door jamb and strike plate.
